Bernardo
When it comes to Syrian hamster toys, there is a huge range of options available. However, not every hamster is going to like the same thing. You may find your pets dislike and refuse to use the toys you give them.
However, most of them are diggers. This is one of the part behaviours that Syrian hamster love to do in their natural life. There are some best toys for Syrian hamster that you can buy or homemade to give your hamster a change to burrow that you should know.
#1 Syrian hamsters should be able to dig whenever they want
As the hamster parents, you should give your pets with a cage/glass tank that is filled with a lot of bedding. The more the better, since the hamster will have a lot of fun digging around. This will give your hamsters a change to dig whatever they want.
However, to do so, you will have to choose the cages with deep plastic bases and wire tops. This bottom will work well to hold for about a few inches of bedding. Also ensure that you provide them with safe material of bedding and encourage the burrowing behaviours.
#2 Best type of digging toys
Personally, a digging tower is what I prefer to give my Syrian hamster. Unfortunately, you may hard to find this type of toy in the pet store, there are also not many option in the market. But this one seems to be the best.
You have to ensure the digging toys you give them is large enough for a Syrian hamster to fit, and you can fill it with whatever kind of bedding your hamster likes.
#3 DIY hamster digging boxes
There is the case that hamster owners buy a flat floors cage for them. So, there is no room for them to dig into their substrate. And in the case if you use liner as a bedding for hamster they don’t get the chance to so. And if you do not want your hamster digging into their cage and mess up your room, then should make a digging box for their playtime.
Using a cardboard or hard plastic box, fill this box with a combination of substrate that safe for hamster. I have filled my digging box with coconut mulch. Ensure that the box is large enough for an adult Syrian hamster can comfortably digging inside.
